Batten Down the Hatches

This is the time of year where we start getting storms passing through, and it looks like the season starts tomorrow. We have a nor’easter headed our way with winds in excess of 50 miles an hour.

After living out here for a while one gets into the rhythm of the seasons and knowing what to do. A new portable generator has been set up, everything outside stowed, and the agility course is all buttoned up.

The generator matches my drill. I feel SO manly.

It's at times like these that I'm glad I made every obstacle with feet packed with lead shot. Seriously, I think I have the heaviest agility props on the planet. They don't budge in a strong wind.

The Princess kept me company as I got everything secured.

Everything loose is bungee corded together.

I fully expect to lose power and internet, so if I'm gone for a few days that'll be why. We have buckets of clonazepam for any of the kids who might need it. We have enough gasoline of 14 days continuous generator use, and freezers full of food, lots of bullets and a few bottles of rum. We got this. -mn
