I was able to request a "review" from Facebook via a form, but of course this form has no place to say "My post advertising my own free-to-watch home vids of MY DOGS is NOT SPAM", of course, and Facebook's response? They replied with teh following email: "Your account has been suspended due to repeated violations of our Community Standards. You will receive another email from us when or if this suspension is lifted." I can access my account, but I can't view anything on FB and I can't post anything." So that's it. I'm being punished for posting ads to my own (free) home movies. At no point can I see how this post violated FB's community standards, which are (comments in parentheses are mine):
Policy Rationale We work hard to limit the spread of commercial spam to prevent false advertising, fraud, and security breaches, all of which detract from people's ability to share and connect. We do not allow people to use misleading or inaccurate information to collect likes, followers, or shares.
Artificially increase distribution for financial gain (No money being made)
Create or use fake accounts or compromise other people’s accounts to Impersonate or pretend to be a business, organization, public figure, or private individual (not pretending anything)
Attempt to create connections, create content, or message people (WTF does thsi even mean?)
Restrict access to content by requiring people to like, share, or recommend before viewing (Not true in TPO's case)
Enourage likes, shares, or clicks under false pretenses (Not true in TPO's case)
Maliciously use login credentials or personally identifiable information by:
Attempting to gather or share login credentials or personally identifiable information(Haven't done that)
Using another person’s login credentials or personally identifiable information (Haven't done that)
Promise non-existent Facebook features (Haven't done that) (Source: https://www.facebook.com/communitystandards/spam)
Does anyone see where I violated their fucking standards? I don't. And apparently I don't get an explanation, either. Someone at FB decided to bend the rules to boot me. Period.
And there's no appeal and absolutely nothing I can do. Facebook, not me, has decided TPO no longer exists there because I am apparently a menace to their society. Someone there has decided to boot me for reasons unknown and on a BS and totally fictitious basis. Sounds to me exactly how a despot in a third world country behaves, minus the unmarked mass grave. This SHOULD get people up in arms; this SHOULD raise people's concerns. IOt SHOULD but it WON'T. I would hope people would be outraged and alarmed, but at this point I know better. I give up. -mn
